I. Introduction
Leap is committed to protecting the privacy and data rights of our consumers in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This policy outlines your rights as a consumer under CCPA and explains how Leap administers and complies with CCPA regulations. This policy should be read in conjunction with Leap’s Privacy Policy, which can be found online on our Privacy Policy page.
II. Consumer Rights Under CCPA
• Right to Know. You have the right to know what personal information Leap collects, uses, shares, and sells about you.
• Right to Opt-Out. You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information to third parties. Leap does not sell personal information unless explicitly authorized by you.
• Right to Access. You have the right to request access to your personal information that Leap has collected and stored.
• Right to Deletion. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information from Leap's records, subject to certain exceptions, which can be found on our Privacy Policy page.
• Right to Non-Discrimination. Leap does not discriminate against consumers who exercise their CCPA rights. You will not be denied goods or services, charged different prices, or provided with a different level of service based on your exercise of CCPA rights.
III. How Leap Administers and Complies with CCPA
1. Data Collection and Use. Leap collects personal information directly from consumers or from third-party sources only for specified and lawful purposes disclosed in our Privacy Policy page.. We clearly communicate to consumers the purposes for which their information will be used and obtain their consent when required by law. We do not collect more information than is necessary to fulfill these purposes, and we do not use personal information for purposes unrelated to the disclosed purposes without obtaining additional consent from the consumer. (i) personal information collected about consumers in the past 12 months; (ii) personal information disclosed for a business purpose or sold to third parties in the preceding 12 months; (iii) sources from which personal information is collected; and (iv) third parties to whom personal information was disclosed or sold.
2. Data Sharing and Selling. Leap values consumer privacy and does not sell personal information to third parties unless explicitly authorized by consumers or as permitted by CCPA regulations. We may share personal information with trusted service providers or business partners only for specific purposes outlined in our Privacy Policy page, such as providing services, processing transactions, or conducting marketing activities. Before sharing personal information with third parties, we enter into contractual agreements to ensure they handle the information responsibly and in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
3. Data Security. As described in our Privacy Policy page, Leap implements reasonable security measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Leap prioritizes the security of personal information and implements reasonable technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These measures include encryption of sensitive data, access controls, regular security audits and assessments, employee training on data protection best practices, and the use of secure data storage systems. In the event of a data breach or security incident, Leap has procedures in place to respond promptly, mitigate risks, and notify affected individuals and authorities as required by law.
4. Data Retention. Leap retains personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. We establish retention periods based on the nature of the information, the purposes for which it is used, legal obligations, and business needs. Once personal information is no longer needed for its intended purposes, we securely delete, anonymize, or dispose of it in accordance with our data retention policies and practices.
IV. Consumer Requests
To exercise your CCPA rights, including the right to know, opt-out, access, and deletion, and how Leap collects, uses, shares, and sells your information, please send an email to support@leapinc.co as directed below. In each instance, please be sure to include your full name, address, phone number and email address for us to contact you. You may also have an authorized agent make a request on your behalf pending verification of the agent’s authorization to communicate with you. Please be sure to also review our Privacy Policy page, whether before or after you submit your request.
1. Right to Know Request.
a. In the email, write in the subject line “CCPA Right to Know Request.”
b. Provide a description of the information you are requesting.
c. Upon receiving the request, Leap will verify your identity using reasonable methods to ensure the security of personal information.
d. Once the identity is verified, Leap will provide the requested information to the email address from which the request came within 45 days, or an extended time as permitted by CCPA.
2. Opt-Out of Sale of Personal Information Request.
a. If you wish to opt-out of the sale of your personal information, you can do so by sending an email with the subject line “CCPA Opt-Out Request.”
b. In the email, you should provide a clear statement that you are opting out of the sale of your personal information.
c. Upon receiving the opt-out request, Leap will process the request promptly and refrain from selling your personal information to third parties.
3. Delete Personal Information Request.
a. To request the deletion of your personal information from Leap’s records, send an email with the subject line “CCPA Deletion Request.”
b. In the email, you should provide a clear request for the deletion of your personal information.
c. Upon receiving the deletion request, Leap will verify your identity and, subject to any exceptions that may apply, proceed to delete the requested information within 45 days or an extended time as permitted by CCPA.
4. Verification Process. For all requests related to CCPA rights, Leap will verify your identity using reasonable methods. This may include verifying email addresses, phone numbers, or requesting additional information to confirm identity. If Leap is unable to verify your identity, we will notify you and provide guidance on how to complete the verification process.5. Exceptions. In certain cases, Leap may not be able to comply with a consumer’s deletion request for a variety of reasons. V. Training and Compliance
1. Compliance Measures.
a. The Leap Human Resources department is responsible for overseeing CCPA compliance and ensuring adherence to privacy policies and procedures.
b. Our privacy policies and practices are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect changes in CCPA regulations and best practices in data privacy.
c. We conduct periodic audits and assessments of our policy and we maintain records to demonstrate compliance with CCPA requirements.
d. We provide mechanisms for consumers to exercise their CCPA rights, such as the right to know, opt-out, access, and deletion, through designated channels outlined in our privacy policy.
2. Training.
a. Employees involved in handling personal information receive training and refresher training on CCPA regulations, privacy principles, and our company’s privacy policies and procedures
b. New employees involved in handling personal information receive training upon joining Leap.
c. Our training programs are designed to promote a culture of privacy awareness and accountability throughout the organization, ensuring that employees understand their roles and responsibilities in protecting consumer privacy rights.
3. Privacy Policy Updates. Leap regularly reviews and updates our privacy policy to reflect changes in CCPA regulations and our data privacy practices. Updates will be communicated to consumers through our website or other appropriate channels.
